DereDere is celebrating Swedish National Day at Blasieholmstorg Loppis

Tomorrow, 6th June, is time to have some fun!! Why? We’re not very sure what we’re celebrating, but when did that ever stop us?

Stockholm is donning its best clothes (most likely yellow and blue) and is going out on the streets to eat, drink, shop and be generally jolly. The weather forecast says it’s going to be just “lagom” with no sign of rain, so we’re good to go!

Where? Let’s see, so many choices, so little time in one day!

First, come on over to Blasieholmstorg Loppis. We’re going to wait there for you from 11.00 to 15.00 with all our DereDere goodies.

We also have a surprise for you. We’re going to let you make your own earrings! Well, actually to be more precise, we’ll make them for you on the spot, but you can chose what beads you want to have in them. Your own pair of custom made, one-of-a-kind earrings that you design yourself. We’re very curious to see what pretty things will come out of this!

After you’ve upped your style with our pretties, it’s time to enjoy the celebrations.

Just down the street, at Kungsträdgården will be plenty of lively activities going on. And that’s a major understatement. One of the festivals of the day is located here, the Smaka på Stockholm Festival which is a huge food festival with famous chefs, delicious food stands, abundant drink stands (Drink responsibly everyone!) and live music concerts to enjoy in between all the food fights (between the chefs that is). Just have a look at the map of food and drinks stands and you’ll start to drool right away .

Speaking of music, the concerts at Kungsträdgården are a spillover from another festival centered on Södermalm, the Make Musik STHLM festival . Tens of artists are performing on the streets of Södermalm throughout the afternoon, so your only problem will be to choose which one to see.

If you’re feeling lazy but still in the mood for a party, there’s Mosquito Beach Party at Smedsuddsbadet from 15.00 to 20.00 and 5 600 people have already RSVPed, so it should be fun. Just don’t bring only your bathing suit, with maximum of 17°C, you might want to have something to cover up.

But if you have your kids with you, no worries, just a stonethrow away, in Rolambhovsparken, there’s plenty of activities planned to keep them entertained.

If all the celebrating has worn you out by now, and you might be thinking that it’s time for a break over a good dinner and a pint of beer, head on over to one of the many bars around Stockholm that show the Champion League Final with Barcelona vs Juventus at 20.45. Some of the chain bars showing live sports events  are O’Connells , O’Learys, Pitcher’s or Southside Pub.

That should have recharged your batteries for the evening, enough so that you can spend the rest of the night partying, maybe at Debaser Medis. They’re hosting the second Stockholm semifinal of the Emergenza Festival, which is more or less the indie band’s answer to Eurovision.  Hurry to get your ticket here.

These are just some of the things we thought might be interesting for tomorrow, but there’s so much more going on. Here’s a list with free events happening around Stockholm from Gratis I Stockholm and some more of them on Visit Stockholm site.

But whatever you do tomorrow, don’t forget to say hi to us at Blasieholmstorget!

See you there!
